Eligibility

Membership will be open to any scientist satisfying one of the following criteria:
  • Holder of a Ph.D., or an M.Phil degree or its equivalent in physics or a related subject from a recognized University.
  • A teacher of Physics in a University.
  • A research physicist in an R&D organization or an educational institution.

Note: Membership will be confirmed by the Executive Council.

Membership Fees

Membership Fee: Rs. 10/-

Annual Subscription: Rs. 100/-

Life Membership Option: Rs. 1000/-

Explanation

The following explanations and interpretations of the Constitution were made by the Executive Council of the Society at its first meeting held on March 15, 1990.

  • The annual subscription would be for a calendar year.
  • Membership period is also for a calendar year, renewed only after payment.
  • Life membership (Rs. 1000/-) will be deposited in a fixed deposit account.
  • “Related subject” includes Applied Mathematics, Electronics, Materials Science, and Physical Metallurgy.
  • A teacher includes those in constituent colleges of a University.
  • A research physicist must hold at least an M.Sc. degree and work full-time in R&D or funded projects.
